Diamond Push Up Exercise

Audio from the Diamond Push Up Video

Okay. It is time for the diamond push-up.

Now, with the diamond push-up, you are going to put your hands together like this, into a diamond. And by putting your hands nice and close together, it works on your triceps a lot more than working into the chest.

So, still works the chest but gets into those triceps.

And what your objective is to bring your that diamond down to your sternum just between your pectoral muscles, your chest muscles.

This is how we do it.

So, with a regular push-up, you’d have your hands underneath your shoulders. But for this one, you are going to have that diamond shape that I just showed you underneath your sternum, your chest bone.

Feet are nice and close together.

From here, the elbows need to go backwards when you come down. So, the elbows come back, touch to the chest, and back up.

Same things apply when doing this push-up. Take a deep breath end in, hold that breath as you pull yourself down, and then breath out as you push your self up.

Keep your core nice and tight. Keep your buttocks, your gluts nice and tight.

And make sure that you stay in a really straight line.

That is the diamond push-up.
