Audio from the Cross Body Extension Video
Now, onto a core based exercise. I call this one the cross-body extension.
We start with a pushup position, and then we extend one arm and extend the opposite leg so we’re just being supported by one arm and one leg. It’s a tricky one, but well worth the effort. Here we go.
To start in the regular pushup position, there should be a straight line from shoulder down to heel. Core is nice and tight. From here make sure your buttock is tight, too. You’re going to lift one leg off the floor ,and at the same time you’re going to lift the opposite arm off the floor and reach out. That’s one repetition…two repetitions…three, and so on. It gets more and more difficult as you get more and more tired. There we go, the cross-body extension. Excellent for the core.
Take your time and you’ve got 20 to do, alternating sides.
