What are Kettlebells?

Kettlebells are an old Scottish training tool that actually started off life as a kettle 2000 years ago. Imagine a round hunk of metal with a handle and you will get the general idea. They are suitable for both men and women and are available in various sizes ranging from 8kg right up to a monsterous 48kg. Most women will start with an 8kg and men usually start with a 12kg or 16kg kettlebell. By swinging, pressing, snatching and pulling the kettlebell you can create a workout that not only burns a tremendous amount of calories but also carves out a physique like no other.

Why use Kettlebells?

We have been using kettlebells with our clients for many years now and can honestly say that the results are incredible. Due to the slightly awkward centre of gravity of the kettlebell, they offer a totally new challenge to your joints and cause your body to work extra hard to stabilize. This means that you can rehabilitate and strengthen joints far more quickly and effectively with a kettlebell.
Kettlebells are NOT something that you should attempt using unsupervised and although the rewards are huge it is very easy to make silly mistakes and cause yourself more harm than good. We recommend booking in for a few sessions to build up a good foundation before going at it alone.

The Kettlebell Workout

Kettlebell training is tough, for this reason sessions tend to last only 20-30 minutes. Our kettlebell workouts use full body movements utilizing hundreds of muscles at a time, this way your body adapts as one complete unit as well as burning maximum calories in minimum time.
