Top 7 Decaffeinated Drinks

|
Hey Greg here...

I often find that people panic when I tell them to give up caffeine for a while, the detrimental effects that caffeine has on the body are too great to list here, but for now I wanted to list a few of my favourite decaffeinated drinks that you can enjoy...

Top 7 Decaffeinated Drinks

  1. Tulsi - this is my wife's favourite, and a great morning tea. Used in South Asia in Ayurveda as a medicinal drink. It has also been shown to be an effective anti-oxidant.
  2. Liquorice - not everyone's "cup of tea", excuse the pun, but I like the tangy earthy taste of liquorice. It is antispasmodic in the bowels so can be effective at treating IBS and Leaky Gut Syndrome (very common in those with a bad diet high in wheat). Try it!
  3. Chicory - drink this black and it tastes like coffee, well sort of. I love it. And for those of you that struggle will sluggish bowels without your coffee, the Inulin in chicory can get you moving. Also effective at eliminating intestinal worms and parasites.
  4. St. John's Wort - I love this tea but it doesn't agree with everyone. Widely used as a herbal cure for depression. There is lots of info on the Internet about side-effects and if you are taking any prescription drugs then beware.
  5. After Dinner - a blended tea including fennel, chicory and cardamom. It tastes a bit funky but I like it and its great after a meal.
  6. Three Ginger - clean tasting and refreshing, great for any time of the day. Ginger promotes the production of bile so if you are suffering from Gallstones avoid this one.
  7. Sleepytime - my favourite evening tea, it's relaxing and tastes amazing. If I had to only choose one tea it would be this one.

There you go, my list of decaffeinated drinks, other than water this is all I drink.

If you are eating right then you don't need caffeine to get you through the day. In fact caffeine ultimately takes away more energy than it gives.
